Profile

Deepika

01

Practice

Deepika practises family law, child protection law (matters pursuant to the CFCSA involving the Ministry of Children and Family Development) and represents clients in matters involving parenting arrangements, family violence, child and spousal support, property division, divorce, and protection orders. She recognizes that separation and family conflict can be some of the most difficult experiences a person will face and is committed to providing clear, practical legal advice grounded in compassion, strategy, and results.

02

A trauma-informed approach

Deepika takes a trauma-informed approach to her practice, recognizing the impact that conflict, abuse, and litigation can have on individuals and families. She strives to create an environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make informed decisions throughout the legal process.

03

Complex parenting disputes

She has particular experience with complex parenting disputes, including matters involving family violence, coercive and controlling behaviour, high-conflict parenting, relocation, and allegations of parental alienation or estrangement. While she is a strong advocate in the courtroom when litigation is necessary, she also recognizes that negotiated resolutions can often provide families with greater certainty, lower costs, and better long-term outcomes. Whenever appropriate, she works to resolve disputes efficiently through negotiation, mediation, or other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

04

Children at the centre

Above all, Deepika is committed to protecting her clients' interests while keeping the best interests of children at the centre of every decision. She approaches every file with thorough preparation, practical problem-solving, and a focus on achieving meaningful, lasting resolutions.
